LETTER TO YOU

 

Our principal, Mr. Cassius Gil has written a letter to our students and the members of the Bronx Prep community.

You may read the letter as follows below:



Hello Democracy Prep/ Bronx Preparatory Charter School,

 

We are almost at the end of the year- and closer to the vacation time. I hope all of you are as excited as I am to take a break from the amazing work you have all been doing, and reward yourselves with relaxation during our winter break. Although this is a great time to take a load off, I urge you all to complete your break assignments, and to engage in other activities that will boost morale and academia minded thinking. I hope many of you will stop by my office in January with stories from your break, and new ideas you have for Democracy Prep/ Bronx Prep.

I would just like to formally mention again how proud I am of all of you for continuing to make the transition from Bronx Preparatory Charter School into Democracy Prep Charter School a smooth one. We have had many representatives from Democracy stop in and express their joy for the effort and the improvement we have made as a community here. As our test and report grades have shown, we are growing as a school, and preparing you all better for the college journey we hope you all embark on after graduation.

About Cassius Gil

Gil began his journey into educatio at NYU, as a English major. Upon graduation, he joined Teach for America, and was placed at Bronx Prep as an English teacher. From there, he worked to teach Advanced Placement courrses, and invited many guests- such as noted author Junot Diaz- to BP. Gil was promoted to prinicipal in 2014, and has been serving dilegently since
